Reciprocating Compressor Valve Basics
Reciprocating compressor valves control gas flow into and out of the cylinder. Their opening and closing are driven by the pressure differential across the valve plate. Product selection still starts with the specific compressor and operating conditions.
Product Classifications
RONDER currently groups its compressor valve products into three structural categories.
- Ring valves: FW, HD and HK types
- Mesh valves: WD, WG, WJ and WP types
- Poppet valves: JD and JG types
Understanding Suitability
Model designations and classifications are useful starting references. Configuration and suitability must still be confirmed against compressor configuration, gas service and actual operating conditions.
